The hardest task after you come back from a long break is remembering what do I even do for a living?

Something that I do for myself before I leave for vacation is to input all the things I need to follow up on to be “due” in my Todoist setup the day I get back. That way, when I return, all I have to do is re-read the outstanding tasks and follow-ups in my Todoist that day. You may (and I did) have a ton of tasks “due” on the Monday after this break, but once you break them up into “what are the 3–5 biggest tasks I want to accomplish today, and what can wait until tomorrow” tasks, you’ll be golden.

If you didn’t get to write down your follow-ups the day before your break, no worries either—it’s good to think about what you were working on previously before diving into responding to mail or direct messages, and writing down your goals (either on paper/by hand, or in a document online) for the day as well as any major follow-ups you’ll need to do before continuing with your next project.
